Our story

The origin of the name Tacuru

TACURU is a word of Guaraní origin that evokes two deep images: the hardworking ant and the solid, resistant nest they build — a mound that can reach up to two and a half meters in height, made with dedication, earth and saliva.

Tacurú is also the name of a small Brazilian city in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, which in 2010 adopted Guaraní as the official language of the municipality alongside Portuguese. A gesture of identity and cultural pride that resonates deeply in this border region.

From that city, the family that brought this hotel to life moved to Salto del Guairá, and in 2013 founded this establishment. In honor of that origin, they chose the name Tacuru and the distinctive ant as their logo: a symbol of work, strength and construction.

Today, Tacuru Hotel & Spa is a colonial, classic and modern space all at once, where every guest is welcomed as if at home.

Welcome to Salto del Guairá.
